Admin/Mods - If this is the wrong board, please move with my apologies. OK, I'm currently pre-release modifying my board www.southernwaoutdoors.com.au (native URL southernwaoutdoors.freeforums.net/index.cgi? )and I keep getting a second, current browser session tab popping up, conducting a survey - have a look at the fine print - - a whois dig on the domain name is at the end. I also installed IE10 - certainly wouldn't put it past MS to be involved. Surely proboards aren't doing this? I wonder how many gullible individuals will get sucked into this.

This needs to be taken care of.. If any of your members are gullible to actually fill it out and give there #phone.. It will be a $25 pop to start and it will suck out $15.00 a week from their phone account.... It's a Russian scam I think..
I had something like this happen a coupla years ago on Virgin Pre Paid Mobile..And they refused to stop it..Saying it was my fault.. It was the first phone I smashed with my hammer.. (I'm a Carpenter by trade)
On a side note.. Things like this can sneak in from a member using a hot linked picture as an avatar without them being aware of it....

Hi blueshead - thanks for your input - I agree - it APPEARS (not absolutely sure yet) that it's as a result of installing IE 10, I've just gone to my sight on my lap top (with IE9) and I don't get that pop up - I wish you could get .com domain names blacklisted and websites dropped as you can with a .com.au (Australia) - man I enjoyed doing that to some moron that tried to rip me off - I'll put a flag on my site and do some digging for a block.

My board does not allow hotlinking.. All members must host there own piccys, etc,etc..
I went to both boards as a guest in FF 19.0.2 in Win7 and did not get the Pop up..

This wouldn't be anything to do with Proboards, more likely an infection on your computer Try doing scans with spybot search and destroy, and malawarebytes and maybe scan using your installed security software. A friend recommends a decent free online antivirus scanner, HouseCall, run by Trend Micro. You can use it by going to this link: housecall.trendmicro.com/au/index.html

By hot linking, I assum you mean linking to content on other websites/pages? All modified content is hosted by my upstream website hosting service under one of my .com.au domains Thanks for the feedback - solidifying the IE10 conspiracy theory then LOL, BTW, I assume you only got to the log in screen?
