[RD] Hover over image in board description to reveal text?

Hi i'm trying to figure out a code that allows me to have an image in my board description, that can be scrolled over to reveal the board description text. I'm not really sure how to explain it, but I hope that's enough to go by? My test site.

If so, I can tell you it takes a lot of work to do as they are fake boards with the real ones hidden. I doubt you'd want to take on a poject like that when this month sometime (last I heard) our forums will be converted to V5, unless you opt out of the conversion and then it will be for sure by the end of the year. If you plan to opt out of the conversion until the end of the year and you REALLY want to do this, I'll help. Otherwise, I know of no other way to do it and I kind of doubt any coders will want to take on a new code when they are busy converting needed codes to plug-ins for V5.

My advices would be to get a copy of your V4 forum to V5 format and work on that. It would be MUCH easier to use jquery to fade in descriptions over an image, since we have direct access to the layout of the boards in V5.

Ah yes, that would be what I'm looking for. I'd rather stick with the V4 version of my forum, but if need be then I might just accept my fate and switch to V5, along with all my codes. However, if you're willing to help me now to figure out this code for my current forum, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Ahh quick edit, actually, I'm just curious if the hover images code applies for all the boards, or if some could of the boards could simply be in their regular state? As in, if certain boards under certain categories would have the image hover, while other boards are unedited and display the description as it is? If the case is that all the boards must have an image, then that might be a deal breaker for me and I might just have to switch to V5 anyways.

Well, the problem would be making the fake boards look exactly the same plus the only way I could think of doing that would be to have all your real boards after the fake boards and then hide the ones you are making fake ones for. You couldn't have one category with pictures that fade with the descriptions and then the next with out, the next with.

And now that I think of V5, it would be relatively easy to do all boards but doing select boards, I'm not sure how easy that would be. I'd have to play around with that. I have an idea how to do it but whether it would pan out, I don't know. I'm pretty darn new to V5, still learning.

Now with V4, if you made fake boards for all your boards, you could basically do what-ever you want with each board.

By the way, most of your codes from the data base will not work on V5. Most of your css won't work unless it is specific to html in your headers and even your html may need tweeking. The good news is many of these codes aren't needed anymore and if they are, there is a growing number of plug-ins you can use on V5.

Well, let me know what you want to do but I do think it might be too much work just to have it become obsolete when you convert to V5 whether this month or the end of the year. But it is up to you what you want to do.

How good are you at html? I think I only have two other layout left besides the one I linked you to. This:

putteraroundiv.proboards.com (needs the jquery fade added) and then one with round boards, lol and I don't remember the site I had that on anyway.
