Is there a plugin so that admins/staff can see a member's IP number?

In the drop-down beside the gear in the upper right of a post or profile you will see the IP. In the post hover over moderate to see the IP.

I don't mean to highjack this thread, but I was wondering if there was a way for admin/staff to be able to see the IP's of guests not signed in?

Guest IPs will only show if a guest posts or tries to register.

Yeah, that is what I've noticed with this new BetaZone. This is why I asked. I was not sure if it was a code (or plugin) I needed to ask for so it would do like the regular Proboards sites do. I'm guessing it's not something that will be available with Betazone.

Plugins cannot show IPs.

In V5 (betazone forums and converted forums), guest IPs fallow the rule I posted above.

Is it possible to do a search the other way around? Example, search for the IP and get the accounts registered with that ip on the forums.

As far as I am aware, you cannot input an IP manually, but you can click the gear icon next to a profile, open the "moderate" menu, and hover over the IP for the option to show other accounts with the same IP.

As far as I am aware, you cannot input an IP manually, but you can click the gear icon next to a profile, open the "moderate" menu, and hover over the IP for the option to show other accounts with the same IP.

Hmm ok. But it would be a good feature to implement in future versions. I run a game server and I use proboards for my forum needs. I had thwarted an attempted account hacker and banned him in game but I wanted to know if he had registered any accounts in my forums. 

P.S I did a global ban of his IP on my forums just to be safe. Although finding out his identity would have been more informational.

This used to be possible in V4, but was removed due to the major changes happening to privacy laws many countries right now. Many places are considering classifying IPs as personally identifying information (PII), which makes showing this info to admins a borderline problem.

You can n v5, just to to Security and Ban members, enter the IP, choose the expiration date, and done.

You can ban by IP, but not search by IP.

Yup that is what I did. I felt the need since a member of my forum tried to hack someone else's account and I have the hacker's IP but I have no idea who the member was. I globally banned the IP in game and forums so its all fixed now even though I don't know who it was.

Ahhh! THis was what I was wanting to know. If it were left off of the betazone or v5 sites for some privacy reason. Oh phooey. I'm going to miss this feature. I have some members who lurk and are shy about signing on. Then I do a shout out once I see they have been peeking in recently, then out from the shaddows they come and happy too.

If you click on '# guests' at the bottom of the homepage, it brings up a list of IP addys.
