theisleofemerald.boards.net/Hi Todge I have a member who can't see the option to add the personal smilies in their profile settings. I have all themes ticked to have the plug in showing; I can see it and have added links to it, so smilies appear for me when I click in Quick Reply, but not when I make a straightforward reply - I wonder why not or is it only supposed to work in Quick Reply? The member tried Windows XP and Windows 7 and still no joy - can't see it in their settings page at the bottom where it should be. Any ideas as to what could be wrong?

I'm the member Emerald mentioned, and I have now done a bit more checking. It looks as if the new Personal Smilies plugin only works for admins on their own forums. Logging in to my forum with a test account, the PS option wasn't available, but it is if I log in as admin.

There was an update to the PB displays the profile pages that this plugin didn't like.

I've just installed version 1.2.3 of this plug-in on my forum. As admin, I was able to add some personal smilies, and in testing, my co-admin was also able to install her smiley, but my test account as a regular member was given this message:
Since the Personal Smilies plug-in shows up on all the members' profiles, it is important that they are able to use it, the same as admins.
Is there something that I need to do on my end to fix this?

My apologies, Todge, I missed seeing the post where you have to reset the Edit User Profile to default for members to use this plug-in. I just finished doing that for all my current themes, and now it works perfectly for my test account.

No worries..
I'm surprised that a non-standard layout should stop the key from being written to though. If a page layout causes issues it is usually with the smiley option not being available at all, or possibly being displayed in the wrong place...

Does this clash with the Interests Notification Centre? As this is the last plugin I added before the smileys form stopped appearing in edit profile.

Does this clash with the Interests Notification Centre? As this is the last plugin I added before the smileys form stopped appearing in edit profile. I have no idea. The easiest way to check that is to temporarily disable the Interests Notification Centre, then check to see if the Personal Smilies come back. BUT, Proboards recently updated the profile pages that stopped the Personal Smilies from being seen.. To test that out, try refreshing the page and see if the Personal Smilies reappear. If they do, download and install the latest version from the Library, which has been patched to work correctly with the PB update.
