Personal Smilies (v 1.3.0)

Can you please try version 1.2.4 and make sure that the 'Key Permissions' are set to 'Members & Staff'.

I added the Personal Smiliies Plug in to my forum a while back, and discovered today that most of the personal smilies I had set on my own account, were no longer usable -- instead of the smilie image, I had a small photo icon that did not activate the smiley when inserted into the message.  So, I thought that perhaps the website I had gotten the smiley from, no longer had this link active.  I thought I would add new personal smilies.  But when I went to do so, I couldn't find the option on my profile on the settings page of my profile. THe menu item for personal smilies is no longer on the settings page.  Does anyone have any pointers or explanations?

A couple of months ago PB updated the way the Profile page is created, and this plugin was updated to work with the that update.

So make sure you are using the latest version (1.2.4), and all should be good.

It looks like I have the old version, 1.20.  How do I update to the new? I just downloaded the new version 1.24 and I have come to a box where I am asked if I want to "update" or "reset" the old version.  Which of these should I select? If I update, will this mean that I lose all the personal smiliies I have set on my profile?

I figured it out -- I chose "update" and it reset it so that now I can see the personal smilies options in my profile settings again! Thanks for your help!

Nope, if you update all of your original settings should be kept, including all of your existing smilies, but it is always good practice to copy/paste them into text file just in case.

I am having a very strange problem with this plugin. I can write a full page letter then put one of my smilies at the end and the whole letter disappears. Boy, can that be frustrating. Does anyone have any kind of answer and hopefully a cure for this. I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks

Are you running the most recent version (check the library to see what the current version is and compare it against the version you have in Admin > Plugins > Manage)? Also, a link to your forum, or better yet, a link to where the issue happened, would probably be useful for Todge to debug this.

I am from   this forum  and we have been using personal smilies forever.  They are still appearing in our smilie dropdown box but the place in 'edit profile/settings' where you add and remove smilies is not appearing in our profiles any more.  No forum settings or plugins have changed since it was last known to be working.

We have had version 1.2.4 installed for a long time and I can't find any settings not as expected.

This has just been reported to me as well.

Both my forums are running current version, but the place in Settings where you can add or delete is missing from our Profiles. Could this have anything to do with Photobucket choking on us? I'm sure at least one of my smilies can from there.

None of mine are from photobucket, haven't used it for ages.

Something has hanged in the way PB displays the profile pages.

I am working on a fix and should have it to you asap.
