So I know v5 lets you style the content of posts like this. But is there any way to make and use classes like this code allowed us to in v4?

Hi, iceguin. Everything in that code should now be possible to do already using inline styles with the exception of animations made with the [classy] tags. A plugin would be needed for that.

While I'm not really familiar with the original code, is there a reason to be so specific in mentioning "animations made with the [classy] tags"? I thought using/creating classes in the BBCode wasn't going to happen, so has that changed now?

I'm referring to a custom tag that the code they linked adds known as [classy] that adds actual Javascript-controlled animations and resizing to elements within posts.

From what I can see looking at the code, the [classy] tags were replaced by [div class=] tags. This let you use a mini-stylesheet that the [newclass] tags added (converted to CSS inside <style> tags). I don't see anything about Javascript-controlled animations.

I forget which forum I had previously seen it on, but hovering over certain elements within posts expanded those elements in height and faded their contents into view. They were using the [classy] tags to do so. Edit: I found a ton of templates with hover effects on a particular template forum, but I can't find the one I was referring to.

Well, that sort of thing isn't impossible with CSS. See the icons in the top right on here, that is all CSS (compare with the black bar at the top in the link in my signature, that uses the exact same HTML structure). Either way, ignoring the original code for now and back on-topic, can classes be made/used with the new BBCode in V5? The classes would be used for than just animating stuff

Classes leave a lot of room for vulnerability and layout destruction.

Thanks for the time and responses as always
