Posting Templates

This plugin gives each member the ability to create multiple posting templates under the "Settings" tab on the "Edit Profile & Settings" page. Once you have created one or more templates, they will be available to you on all of the posting pages and quick reply for UBBC only. All you have to do is click on a template and its contents will be automatically inserted into your post.

You can store up to 4,000 characters total for all of your templates since the data is stored with a private user key. You will know if you have gone over the limit of characters if you do not get a "Successfully saved!" message.

Is there anyway the admin could set some default templates for members to choose from also

A question regarding Keys:  I already have key being used - Type = Private
With the plugin the collapsible Shoutbox pb - will it cause any conflict with the amount of keys being used
that store private data?  - if have more than one key storing private data

Global templates set by the admin could be added using a super key, so I'll add this to do the todo list, but school is getting busy for me again.

I don't remember how many private keys you get, but I'm nearly positive each user gets more than one private key. Brian might know how many of each key you can use.

Private keys count towards your overall key count. Any amount of keys can be assigned to an individual user, but your file storage options limit how many keys you can have.

Hello. Im having a problem . It worked fine and today I noticed the plug in no longer saves any new templates to some of the members accounts. Just the title of it and the template is left blank. But on others it works just fine. It even stopped on a few accounts that it worked for before.

Due to Proboards updates and this plugin having not gotten any corresponding updates (thus partially breaking it) you may want to consider using the unofficially patched plugin posted

Hi @greedsins, in order to speed things up and avoid wasting time could you supply a bit more information?
With 230+ members it might help if we knew at least one of the affected members. A sampling of the browser each of the affected members use could also be important as well as a sample of a template that failed to save.

This information will accelerate your chances at a resolution and also help out Triad who is very a busy student, anything you can do to pave the way will be appreciated.

This plugin is not working on my forum at the moment. It doesn't work in any browser. Basically I have it installed for the graphic request board. When I first opened the forum it worked fine. When you go into the request board to create new thread all it does is go to the pb default create a thread box with no posting template at all. tegdesigns.com

Just create a new post, and use the "Preview" editor and the UBBC buttons at the top to create what you want visually, then select the "BBCode" tab and copy out the UBBC that was created.

Hate to bump an old thread, but I'm afraid I'm having this problem as well, which is quite a shame as this would be extremely helpful for my roleplaying forum where we each have our own personal styles of posting that sometimes requires a bit of editing/setup.

Here are some more details of my problem:

The first template I entered was very simple, just to test the waters. It was this one:

... which is very simply just indenting each paragraph. This template saved and loaded just fine. Then I added two other templates:

After I added these two, neither would show up, but the first one (SimpleParagraph) still did. Then, after trying countless times to get both of those to work, the first one decided not to work either so now NONE of them work. I have only JUST upgraded my forum to V5 and installed this plugin, so I do not know if any of my other members are having this problem as I'm probably the only one testing it at the moment (we're a very small forum).

Also, I am using Firefox, and have not tested any other browser (I just haven't had the time).
