Posting Templates

I'm also having the same problem with it not saving templates. I've tried to create a few for myself recently and when I go to save them, they don't save. I've tried to re install the plugin a few times without having to reset it, but it's not working. I don't want to have to reset the whole thing, mostly because a number of my members are not coding savvy and i had to walk them all through how to do the templates in the first place.

im using chrome, havent asked my firefox or safari users if they're having the problem too, but i'd guess they are if others using firefox are having the issue.

Are you sure your templates aren't over 4,000 characters? If they are, that would be the issue.

I use the "Posting templates" plugin on my website on strongwindacademy.proboards.com/.

Some of our users have been experiencing problems on different browsers. I use Chrome, and it works fine on my end, and I tested it out on Internet Explorer and got fine results as well. However, one of my members uses chrome on a computer which works, but then they use Bing on their tablet, which I think is windows, the plugin will not allow them to save templates, though it will let them use templates already saved. Another member uses Mozilla Firefox and finds that she can save templates, but when she goes to pull them up from the drop down menu from both quick reply and the actual reply box, the templates will not show up.

Is there a way to fix this beyond asking my members to change browsers? It is a browser issue, or perhaps something else entirely?

Hi! I'm trying to edit the option hover color and can't seem to figure out how. Is it even possible?
I've given the plugin some CSS to match Trinity's Spring Fields premade skin, but that highlight/hover blue is driving me a little nuts



Here's what CSS I have so far.  I'm extremely new to it so feel free to correct anything I've done or add to it:

Jordan i am having a key length exceeded error as well, however i know for sure that my templates are not over 4000 characters. i am unable to add more templates as well as being unable to edit ones that i currently have. i've tried deleting some of my templates thinking that it might be a global issue, but even with those templates gone, i'm still having this error.

i really do like this plugin a lot and i've been using it for well over a year now and this is the first time i've experienced these difficulties. is there anything to be done? or will i just have to revert to the old fashion copy-paste?

We have been using your plugin ever since the forum really came about. So, a few years now.

Some of my users started complaining to me the other day though, saying that they couldn't edit their templates stored in their profile (in fact; it wasn't even in the user's profiles!) but they could still post templates that were stored on their account. But, they couldn't edit them, change them, delete them, etc, because the entire section from their profile was missing. 

I flicked through the admin panel and nothing seemed to stand out. It's a bit unusual that this has started happening?

I'm having the same problem as @perolf with this plugin. It seems that recently, proboards has updated their profile editing pages to be easier to navigate. It's the only thing that's different, so I'm wondering if this has something to do with the plugin not working?

Also having this exact problem, the way tulip explained it. Users can still use templates stored to their account, but you literally can't create, edit or delete them in Edit User Profile > Settings because it doesn't show up at all. I'm also assuming this is because proboards updated the profile

This change has broke a few other plugins too.

we could do with a way to be able to edit these plugins in v6 if the author goes awol.


a disclaimer the author signs saying "i will allow pb to edit my plugin if i'm i active for more than 2 months"
