Email members not working

For the past month this function has not been working. I (admin) and the mods on my forum have tried to send all member emails with forum announcements/info/news, but these emails never reach members. I waited a couple of weeks until I tried sending emails in case it was a back log, but they still don't go to members.

Do your members have the "Receive emails from Staff" option checked in their profiles? Are there some members who have received the email? Are members checking the correct email account? Have they checked their spam folder on their email account?

As far as I ( and another Mod) know, no one has received any emails the past two months. The members had received emails before then. This is also evident once a month when I make an announcement, but the jump in members online in 24hrs. This is when we have a monthly poll, and other emails. I can try to find out if any one is getting them, but there are over 800 members.

I am making a note for us to look into the mass email system in general, and your forum specifically. I'll post in this thread when I know more. 

You don't need to check with every member, I'm just trying to check to make sure the emails have been going out at all, a single confirmation of a received email would be enough. Thanks for your assistance.

Some members got an email, but that's just a couple. I know I never changed my settings so I should have gotten the emails I sent, and also from the other mod. Just seems odd that just a small handful of members only get some emails, but most members never get them. I have to send out an announcement on the first of April starting a monthly poll so it is pretty important that all the members get the email. PM'ing all members is a nice feature but only those members who are on the forum often will get them.

I appreciate any help.

Hi,

Do the users who received the email have anything in common? Are they all users of a specific email provider?

I had someone look into the mass email system, and it is working correctly. Did you have your users add [e-mail] to their contacts list? You might want to test this out yourself (with the other mod you mentioned). Knowing what the users who received the email in common would help the most though!

Not working on my end. How/where do I check in the admin to make a change or whatever so that the members don't have the option of disabling the email function. My mods and I are going nuts with this as it seems to work but then stops part way. It reaches a certain point in the member list then no further emails go out.
A member tried to unsubscribe link in the automated email and it was broken. I had always received the emails and have not changed anything and I don't receive the emails.
This is very frustrating as important announcements are only reaching a handful of members.

There's no option to change that on your end. Members are allowed to choose whether or not they want to receive emails from you.

When you say it goes to a certain point on the list, is it alphabetically or is there any other sort of list order you're referring to?

Well we thought it was alphabetically but looking at the mods who did and did not get the email, it's mixed. Really confused why most members do not get the email.

Going off of what Michael has already brought to the table, can you tell me the usernames of any members that currently aren't receiving your emails? As Michael stated, some of them filter email much more strictly than others, so results can vary depending on whether or not the email provider likes your choice of email host.

bbd468 - received the email
wbill76 - Did NOT receive the email.

I myself never got an email sent by a mod. it seems that just a small majority of members get emails, while most don't. With the 4.5 version we all got the emails, but when we switched we got this problem.

Could you try adding [e-mail] to your contacts list on your email and have the mod send the email again? This might help narrow down if its an issue on our end or not, because as far as I am able to discern everything is working as intended with us.

Thanks and will do. I have asked a couple of the mods to email me through the forum so we'll see what happens.
