Email members not working

we are unable to use that email addy since all we can do on the forum is email member and not a specific email addy. I also tried to register under another name using that addy and it's invalid. There must be a way to fix this problem ! The forum will be having a contest soon and we need to email ALL members. There was a huge drop in the pollers last week, about half, due to members not getting the email.

I'll have our sysadmin check into the email system once again. At this point it mostly comes down to user settings and users individual email service providers. All 'mass email' is run off a single system, and everything appears to be running totally normally. Perhaps have users double check that the email address that they are checking is the one tied to their account?

We've thought of that too. The thing is that I can post a thread and pm members but only a small portion of the members will get the info and those who only occasionally check the forum will not. So it could be a member who registered but is not active is screwing up the system. We figure it may be a member email issue but we're not sure how to fix that.
I/we do appreciate all the support you and PB have given us so far and am sure we'll get this all sorted eventually.
