re-odering categories & or boards.

Hey there, just thought of requesting this since i just decided to move some of my boards and categories and ended up with the boards in the wrong places because the current drag and drop is not easily done on a touchpad >.<

So my request would be to make the whole layout of the category and boards areas, into perhaps check boxes. Once checked it asks you where you want to put the board? Could this be a possibility.

I find that if a category has a lot of boards (like some of mine do) moving them individually somewhat tricky and have ended up with a duplicated board, which i am now scared to delete in case i lose the posts within it.

There is actually more than two sub boards there, on the main page. delusional.freeforums.net which is way confusing and not sure what to do to remedy this, any and all suggestions or comments about my idea and to help me out would be super! XD

EDIT: the sub board issue i had with duplicated sub boards, in the wrong places has now been fixed. we must of just confused the system or something, by moving all the duplicates to the right areas it somehow sorted itself... but still moving categories and boards, sub boards etc could be made easier please?

Sorry but we will not be changing this feature at this time. Thank you for the suggestion though.

Fixing mis-dropped boards takes seconds if you put them in the wrong place. Simply drag them to the correct place. That is the entire point of the upgrade to that area. In v4 moving boards took minutes to move each one and you had to load multiple pages. We aren't going to downgrade the system to that or a checkbox equivalent. The new system allows you to fix mistakes in seconds.

The admin area is designed for use on a computer. You'll notice that there is no mobile version of the admin area if you are using our mobile site. We test pages with the mouse & keyboard, touchpads and even touchscreen devices (though it's not designed for them) and have not had issues.

Using touchpads can be difficult and takes practice. Here's a great game that can really help you hone your skills with a touchpad if you are interested.

I just want to make sure I addressed all your concerns. I was really trying to help you out. But you don't sound so sure.

Also, based on your edit I assumed the sub-board issue was fixed. But just so you know. If you are having problems with something being broken. Like actually broken and you can repeat it over and over please be sure to report it in the bugs board. The link is at the top of this page.

I'm sorry that we can't do more to address your primary problem. That page has really been cleaned up and simplified and fixing mistakes is really just another drag and drop. Even when I use the page with a mouse I will drag something halfway down. Let go of it and then drag it further down. If you are having issues moving things just remember you can set them down if you need to scroll down the page further. Also keep in mind that you aren't really going to be in that area all the time. These places are pages where you set things up and you're done. It's a very rare thing for a forum to be rearranging the order of their boards on a frequent basis. I would venture a guess that you are probably already done with that area yourself by now.

If you do need any help don't be afraid to post in the General Discussion board, or just ask me and I can point you in the right direction.
