SUPPORT PROTOCOL
====================
Requesting assistance
-----------------------
1. When making requests, please post your URL, so we can see the problems for ourself.
2. If you want to keep the board private, mention it in your post, and be ready to PM the url.
3. Bookmark your thread so you can find it later (and/or use the notify feature)
4. Don't post your entire header/footer codes, some codes are copyright, and we can see the codes in your board source.
5. Check the copyrights in codes before posting them here.
6. If you have a problem with a code you got elsewhere, go back to them for support.
7. If you have multiple questions, either number your questions, or make a new thread for each question (easier for us)
8. Describe problems in detail, with any errors. ("my boards not working" is not enough)
9. Make requests legible (don't use glow, or 'street talk' etc)
10. ProBoards related questions only.
11. No image requests.
12. No SPAM, forum promotion, TOS Reports, or complaints of any kind.
(if you have a general question, (without identity of other boards) you may ask)
13. You may bump your thread after 24 hours if you haven't received a reply, also it's preferred that ONLY the thread starter bumps the thread, Timezone differences can make it look like an early bump, and it causes confusion.
14. Don't post in someone else's thread, create your own thread.
15. Don't give out your password to ANYONE.
16. Don't PM staff with Support problems unless you are asked to do so.
Support helpers
----------------
1. If you are first to reply, always quote the first post, and any relevant posts (if members are abusive, or for evidence)
2. If someone has replied to a request, let that helper deal with the requester.
3. If the requester comes back and still needs help, wait before answering if you were not the original helper.
4. Only reply if you can actually help the requester.
5. if you repeat an answer, delete your post.
6. if you are not the original helper, and see an error, you may post a correction.
7. If the requester is happy with the answer, let the thread drop, (the requester may not come back to read it, so there is no point)
8. Don't argue between helpers, take it to PM.
9. Do not ask people to make you a temporary Mod or admin of their board.
10. If someone says their board has been deleted, there are several reasons why it may have been deleted, Don't automatically assume it was a TOS violation, Admin staff are the ONLY ones that can say for sure.
11.Don't tell members to PM an admin, they will ask to be PM'd if needed, this saves any confusion.
General rules
-----------------
1. Do not reply to obvious spam.
2. Listen to staff
3. Listen to Official Helpers
4. Don't 'Minimod', If you see a problem/rulebreak, leave it, or PM staff (Gmod/Mod)

Junior Moderators
In order for members to identify 'helpers' in Support and Code Support, there is now a Junior Moderator group, Junior Moderators have very few physical powers, but have the backing of core staff.
Having the Junior Moderator title means they can easily be seen, and that they will deal with issues on their boards.
Junior Moderators will only have their powers in the boards they moderate, but will still show as Junior Moderators in other boards.
Junior mods have the right to edit posts to remove inappropriate links etc, and/or to PM members that break the rules just like any other staff at this board.
Abusive posts or PM's to ANY staff will be dealt with severely.
Coding and 'useful information' Forums
As a result of increasing complaints, email issues, and getting support becoming increasingly difficult for members, it has been decided that any forum remote linked to for codes must be open for guests.
Helping members is not a competition to see who has the highest member count.
If a member just wants a code and nothing else, the registration is useless to you anyway (unless you care about the member count) since the member would only signup, get what they want and leave.
The difference with having the forum open, is that members do not have to encounter the hassle of registration, and the possibility of email delivery problems.
Forums are remembered for the quality of codes provided, and the look and feel of the forum, not the member count.
Any posts to a code which is in a registration needed area will be removed
NOTE: This does not apply to coding requests boards, just databases. Anything which involves actual posting is fine to have guests disallowed, since spam would be an issue other wise
Thank you
