Hope this has not been answered before, could not find it.
I have set up a secret catagory on my forum. I have set up three boards underneath this catagory. I made these accessible to a group I made called testmods. I mailed the link to these to my mods. These worked fine. However, I added subforums to these (also visable to 'testmods', and although I can see them fine, they do not show up for my mods, using the links I sent for the three links. any advice?

Hi alchemymoon, This is a bug - your "test" sub-board should indeed be visible to those within the "playtester" group. We've passed this one along to the developers for them to look at.

As a quick addition, can I ask that you leave your board structure configured the way it is for the time being, so we're able to replicate the issue for our dev guys?

sure thing - thanks Do these things get resolved fairly quickly, or do I need to move things into the one thread for now?

This was something previously thought unreproducible so I'll try to make it a priority, but due to the list of other things we need to get done in front of this, it might take a week or two.

One more thing... When I tried setting the Category to 'hidden' - "Who can access this category..." to CUSTOM and "Only members with the minimum rank:" to OPTIONAL and And members in the groups: PXXXXXXXX (group) Global Moderator Administrator
The category does not appear for the PXXXXX group, or indeed for me as moderator.

When I tried ... ... t he category does not appear for the PXXXXX group, or indeed for me as moderator.Right - when setting a board to "Hidden" it should be completely invisible to all, including those with permissions to access it. This means that to actually get into these areas, the admin must provide the URL to those with permissions to access. The bug lies within the fact that when provided the link to the hidden board "Think Tank", your Playtesters group cannot see the "test" sub-board within, which is not hidden and should be visible once on that page. It's a very confusing issue! Our developers are used to this type of brain teaser though, so hopefully they'll be able to iron everything out.

I see - I was trying to make it so that the *entire* section was accessible. It would be good if the whole section had it's own url rather than having to input one for each forum. Is this not possible? I was also trying to get around the problem of the subforums not showing. Anyway, thanks for all your help - I do look forward to it being sorted.

Unfortunately, if you attempt to refer to a specific category within a URL ( e.g. moon.boards.net/#category-2 ) it will simply scroll you down the main page until the category is focused, and obviously as they are not visible, hidden categories cannot be referred to with URLs, only the boards within them. Trying to do so will likely result in a simple soft refresh of the page. The developers have taken a look at this and heaped it up there on their pile of stuff to do. When I hear more on this issue I'll update you.
