My site uses censored words to create shortcuts for pokemon sprites (:bulbasaur: is censored with an img code for the bulbasaur sprite, for example). As of yesterday morning, they stopped working--for some of the time. For myself, the censors appear perhaps 1/3 of the time. Other members report they show up properly almost all of the time, others not at all. Everyone I've set to repeatedly refreshing has eventually had the censors not work (or alternatively, the problem fixed itself temporarily). I think on average, the censors are working about half the time, give or take.
Now, we do have an upwards of 1200 censored words. I'm afraid that might be causing issues? It is an awful lot of censors, after all. Otherwise,
Bizarrely, we've had some words that aren't censored by us censored. dookie has turned into nuts (to the great amusement of the site), and damn turned into something I don't remember (I was the only one that spotted that). I thought perhaps our censored words had grown so great in mass that it created a gravitational black hole that ate up other sites' censors.
Kidding aside, this isn't a major issue and we're working around it fine, but it is a little disappointing for my co-admin that spent her time inputting all the censors. If there's any way it can be resolved--or if we simply just used waaaaaay too many censors--please let me know!
