If this request is somewhere and I missed it, I apologize, honestly, I spent a solid 30 minutes trying to find what I know has to be an open request. Probably just not searching the proper words or something...
With v4, our site used alpha sort by subject in a number of boards. It worked quite well and served a purpose. When we upgraded to v5 we were sad to see it go. Some boards manually alphabetized their posts, but there are some boards where that just isn't feasible. I vaguely remember being told that the new search feature would make sorting unnecessary. I respectfully disagree. The search is better, but buggy at best.
Two examples: I watch over a board with ~600 threads. Subject search results routinely return nothing despite there being a thread obviously there, sometimes on the first page, sometimes older. I understand there can be a lag time for indexing, but many of these threads have been around for weeks or months and still do not return in a search.
Additionally, I manage another board where each user is allowed a single thread. Even when the user is searching properly, frequently a "Created By" search does not return their existing thread, so they create a second. Then the evil mod (me) goes in and deletes both. Being able to sort by "Created By" makes it almost stupid proof to find your username and see that you do not have an existing post.
Back to the subject at hand. I would very much like to be able to: 1. Set individual boards to sort by Subject Alphabetically by default 2. Individual users sort across pages by Subject, Created By, Last Update using the top titles

Ermentrude isn't the only one looking for an alphabetizing function. 3 of us have been bumping a Plug-in Request Thread asking just this. The v4 header code that sorted sticky threads alphabetically was fantastic and not having that functionality now is making browsing through Character Archives a pain.

I would also love this feature! I've been looking around for a way to do it!
On V4 and previous boards you had options on how to organize the threads in boards. This feature is incredibly important in both archiving and the organization of the accepted character threads, for my sake and for the sake of others.
Here's the setting's I'd like as an option for sorting boards: 1. Alphabetical order 2. Created-by 3. Date created 4. Last update
A sort of reverse option would be good as well. For example, if you sorted a board by alphabetical order, you could sort it A-Z or Z-A. Or if you sorted by date created, you could do oldest at top, or newest at top.
I like the idea of a sort by default, but giving individual user sorts as well.
Pleeeease, Proboards staff! I want this so bad!

I agree that this would be a wonderful and useful addition to return if possible. On a site I am admin on we prefer to have the application archives in alphabetical order because we feel it looks nicer and you can easily find the applications. Yes you could use the search feature but that can be buggy and sometimes will not give you the results you want. Allowing the individual users to sort things how they want to would also be handy since other people may prefer to have threads sorted in a different way.

This is already on our list. It has been requested many times already. In a future update we will try to find a way to implement it. But that could be a while, so please be patient. In the meantime, as was semi-mentioned above, this could hopefully be achieved to some degree with a plugin. Thank you.
