That's what I was originally missing from the code I provided to @christine1966, but she noted that it worked with that in place (even on the posting page, not just quick reply)

By the looks of it, I don't think it's anything you're doing wrong. I double checked with a test forum of mine, as well as @christine1966's forum and appear to encounter the same issue. I would assume the same would go for christine1966's friend as well, but since the link was removed, I haven't been able to try it out. So it would seem that the code does not actually work on v5 in its current form after all

With that said though, it may not be a bad idea to make a plugin request. A coder may be able to get the old spell check system working with v5

Thank you Ricky I will relay the message to my friend about this and I noticed this earlier but I use Google Chrome's Spell thing but alot of my members was asking about this.
