Since upgrading, a member said that she was getting an annoying advert on her phone. I asked what device and what browser and got this pm:
yes. its an htc sensation. its actually their own ad, start a free proboard. it only comes up on mobile version of forum and is static about halfway down the screen . If I use the desktop version on my phone its fine, just the mobile version that has it

Hi, dno. Ads on the mobile version should only display at the very bottom of the screen. Is it possible for her to show a screenshot of where the ad is positioned to ensure whether or not it's displaying correctly?

Thank you for the reply BrianI'm sure she won't know how to post a screenshot and I don't know what buttons to press on an htc sensation in order to coach her through it?

In that case, perhaps a picture of the phone's screen? Anything will do, so long as it clearly shows where the ad is positioned.

Just wanted to add, I looked up the instructions for getting a screenshot with the HTC Sensation device. It looks like if it is running the latest software update, you should be able to take a screenshot by holding the Power button at the top of the device and then immediately press the "Home" button at the same time. This should save the screenshot to their photo library

Just to add to the conversation, I have had a similar issue in the past on an Android device using the mobile web version. In my case, the ad scrolls, but a black bar (the same size as the ad) sticks when I scroll, and then disappears a while after.
EDIT: Hadn't used the mobile in a while. Now it just shows a black bar at all times (no ad), and the bar disappears on scroll, reappears when scroll stops. I assume something is stopping the ad from loading, so this is now a different issue.

Just thought I'd pitch in really quick and say that I've had a similar issue in that when scrolling the bar stayed stationary on the page (as opposed to stationary on the screen), but I find that when I stop scrolling the ad moves back to the bottom where it should be. Doesn't add much, but I thought I'd mention it.
ed; also on an HTC Sensation, using Chrome

Can you let me know if the ad is actually stuck there? or does it go back to the bottom when you move the screen?

She says the ad is permanently stuck in the same place. Thanks for checking back on it. I've created a ticket for our developers to look into this issue further

CheatAreZee thank you sir. I also have another member with similar issue on her ipod. She says the ad moves to the bottom when she scrolls but then it jumps to the centre again I wasn't sure whether to start a new thread for that or if it would be ok on this one?
