New In Calender List

i dont understand the New before Events in the Calender List. ive been in the Thread in the Board its in, i went in the thread in the calender list. its the 5th, and theres still a New before the event on the 3rd. some of them arent new

Hi tunescool,

The "new" icon will display next to the events on that list when the topic has been updated. If you click on the new icon, it should take you to the topic and clear that flag for you the next time you visit the list view of the calendar

none of my calender events have been updated, i started them and thats all. i havent went in any of them, maybe one or two but there is no New for all the events, just a couple. i hit the New icon and it doesnt disappear

This is on your thenotablenook.com/ forum, correct? If so, which account are you logged into when you see the new icon? I just checked with the main admin account (username: admin) and I don't see a new icon listed next to the "Jennie Garth's Birthday" entry that you have when viewing with the list view like you had.

If you are logged into the main admin account and you still see the New icon listed next to that calendar entry, try clearing your browser cache and cookies and this should take care of it for you

ive been logged on with the username admin. that one event did still have the new after i went into the thread using the link. i also hovered over the new icon and went in the event that way. i was doing the same for a couple days before i made this thread. but now after i read your post the new is gone and the one other event for April too.

i checked the rest of the year from may to december and there arent any news. there are two events in march with the new icon, ive went in those threads and the new is still there after refresh or if i leave and come back in the list. i hate resetting my browser stuff but its probably not that anyway because the two events in april dont have the new anymore

you said to go into the event using the new icon and the new wouldnt be there, just by common sense anyone using the forum would think the link would do the same thing, remove the new icon. just so i understand could you explain the way everything about New works in the Calender List

i just replied to an event in march, theres no new icon. i just created a new event one day before keri russell and theres no new icon. and i made another one on the 29th using the all day event checkbox because i never use it and there was no new icon

The new icon works the same on the calendar list as it does on the forum itself. The content will show as new until you view the topic that represents the event. When I looked, everything was correct on our end and I did not see a new icon listed when viewing the admin account, so this was done with fresh eyes. If you saw the new icon still, that would be a cache issue that was specific to your web browser rather than something we would be able to correct on our end.

But since it's resolved for you now, if it happens to crop up again though for future events that you make, feel free to let us know

but why do i still have new icons in march i looked at already, my browser is just not letting it do what its supposed for a couple hours?

I took another look at the month of march and do see two events there that are currently marked as new. If the new tag does not remove when visiting those events, can you give something a try?

I noticed that both events marked as new for March were ones that were created around the same time, where as all the others appear fine. If you were to delete both of those events from march and re-create them, would you still experience the issue with the new tags? The reason I'm suggesting this is because the event topics themselves aren't marked as new, and the calendar should be using the same flag to tell you whether or not the event as new. And as you pointed out earlier, those topics shouldn't have shown as new to you in the first place since you are the one that created them. Since those two events were created around the same time, it's possible that there may have been a server issue that caused the events to not create properly. Re-creating them should take care of it though. Give it a try and let us know what you find out

i deleted the two for march and started new ones, they appear as they should on the calender list without the new. i do maybe 10, 15, 20 new events at a time. ill just have to look to make sure if theres a new when im done and start new ones if theres a problem. thanks ricky
