Questions about betazone?

I don't remember signing up for testing but it says I already have. Could I have my key sent to my email address again? [e-mail] Also, I'm in the dark about how to tinker around with the new V5 edition. I read a bit about it but am still scratching my head. How to make a backup etc?

As for the second part, what type of backup are you trying to make? If you mean a backup of forum data, ProBoards does this automatically and internally to avoid loss of data to equipment or software failure.

If you mean regarding the conversion, no backup is necessary.

I have looked up the email address and found the betazone key associated with that email account. Since you are using a different email address in your profile here though, rather than sending you a PM like I normally would, I have gone ahead and sent you an email with the key

I'm not sure which post you are referring to. Was this a forum that was removed or lost data? There have been some bugs that have hidden data on forums on conversion, but these have been easily rectified with no data loss.

It's on the general v5 discussion forum now and you replied to it. It was posted by Jason 35.

That thread is asking about to reverting back to V4. As mentioned there, there is no way to reverse the conversion process, however no data is lost in the conversion. This is why I would recommend using the betazone key you have above to create a betazone forum before you convert your actual forum.

All I'm concerned about, is whether my board will look the same or will I have to spend a year customizing like I did when I first created it. I think I'm too old to go through that again.

Since old header and footer codes won't work, you will probably need to tweak some setting a little to get it looking how you want, but in V5 this is much easier to do, and we are happy to help you do this.
