2 Shoutbox requests!

Hello!

Just a couple of things for the shoutbox that would be very helpful!

One: Have a way to ban a member from the shoutbox for a certain period of time for being disruptive. I don't want to ban the player from the whole forum unless I have too. Because sometimes it doesn't call for that severe a punishment. Like have a drop down that bans that isp for 30 mins...a hour..a day..ext...

Two: Set it so a player can have just one shoutbox name even if they have multiple accounts. On my forum players can have 10 characters so it gets confusing to tell who is who at times. I find myself using the member list as a cheat sheet.

We have a few improvements that will be made in the future to the shoutbox. A few of these things may partially do what you're requesting.

For example, your first request to ban members from the shoutbox will be possible once we add permissions to the shoutbox. Once that's added you can create a hidden member group, call it 'banned from shoutbox' or something like that. Set the shoutbox permissions to restrict that group from participating. When someone gets out of line just place them in that hidden group. They won't even know. The part that doesn't meet your request is that there is no timer for this. However you have many tools that could allow you to make a system that will let you know when to remove someone. Or place it on them. PM them a warning, tell them they are banned until a certain time and that its up to them to request to be unbanned when that time comes.

Your second request just can't work. It's not how the shoutbox works, it's not how ProBoards works. You are the forum account you are on the forum. The shoutbox is on the forum. It uses forum accounts. There is no way to set a global username for just the shoutbox. when you're logged into the forum you're on that forum. Sorry.

Thanks for the info! the first one will be a big help! the second one came from the members so it was sort of a strange request. But thanks!!
