Theme Question

I initally posted this request under the Themes Database board, and I am sure this probably isn't the correct place, but not sure where else to post it, so feel free to move it to where it needs to go if need be. 

Anyway, the thing is, right now none of the themes on here are appropriate for me to use. I have extremely bad eyesight, very shortsighted and pure black and pure white just don't work for me. They kill my eyes and give me a blinding headache. I feel I am on here enough to have a theme/skin that works for me. I am sure there are many people with bad eyesight that could do with an easier on the eye theme also.  I was using the grey and yellow theme, I can't recall what it was called, but it was something to do with Pre V2 I think, but could be wrong. It was sort of working for me apart from when someone decides to get fancy and use different colours for their font and then I have trouble reading what they are saying.

I am coming on here just about once sometimes twice a day.  Maybe see if someone needs help or it could be me posting for help. I don't need any fancy trickery for a theme, just maybe something in either pastel blue, pastel green or pastel purple/lavender.  Actually the pastel green with browns would probably be the best. Earthy colours. I switched to the green tea and coffee theme, but the boards are white and again, killing my eyes. 

I'd be very grateful if someone could do that sort of theme.  I am sure there are a few others with bad eyesight that could maybe use it.  

On the theme database I had asked if one of my themes could be imported into here, but I was told no.

Can you give us some examples of what is good for yourself and others with bad eyesight? Maybe then PB (or someone else) could whip something "basic" up, using the default V5, and changing some colours around.

I suppose people with bad eyesight can be different about things where colours are concerned. But for me although I have a myriad of different colours on my own site, I find that earthy colours are the best. In fact the Pre V2 theme that I am currently using is really not that bad apart from when people use coloured text, sometimes it doesn't come out clear. If someone were to copy that theme and then maybe just change both board colours to a paler grey would probably work more. Like the grey they use for the background but maybe just a tad darker - so that it doesn't clash with the boards. That would probably work. All they'd have to change in that respect are the board containers.

Unfortunately we can't control people using colored text in their posts. If the rest of the theme is fine, that is the best we can do for now

I know you can't control people using coloured texts, I would never have asked for you to tell people to stop. To be honest, its the darker container window that is causing the issue. It only needs one amendment if both container windows were the same colour it would be super. No chance that it could be amended please?! I wouldn't ask but it really is bad on my eyes and I have a myriad of other disabilities without it giving me major headaches too. I can't praise you guys enough but this is just one minor adjustment to a theme.

Actually it doesn't matter, unless I REALLY need to come on and ask anything, I'll just stop. I thought I could be good use to help others, but I don't want to be a burden.

It's not a burden Mands;

If someone writes something you can't read, try highlighting the text with your mouse. That will probably work well

It's not really just the coloured texts however Patrick, it's the dark container board that is causing issues with reading even normal white text. It's just TOO dark a grey. Unfortunately even normal text is killing my eyes to read anything on. Everything about that theme is fine apart from the dark board container.   I really wish it weren't, it's a me thing, I know. Sorry.
