admin denied access to v5 Beta forum

Using BetaZone, I had my forum duplicated so I could see the new features of the v5 changes. Now I can't access the BetaZone forum. When I click on the link (or cut and paste it into my browser) I get a blue screen that says "this ProBboards forum requires that guests must log in or register. Please log in or register." I type in my user name (admin) and password and the password is rejected. Here's what I've tried so far:

password recovery--new password is also rejected
clearing computer cache and performing disk cleanup
checking IE Options to make sure cookies are enabled
setting up a dummy forum to delete later....same problem
using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer

All passwords are rejected all the time.

Can you help me please?

What is the exact error message you receive?

Have you used the "Need help with something" wizard at the bottom of the login page?

The message reads:

"This ProBboards forum requires that guests must log in or register. Please log in or register."

There is no "Need help with something" wizard at the bottom of the login page.

The page with the blue background isn't actually the login page, that's just the "curtain" being shown because the forum is on Guests Must Login. If you click on the login button on that page, it will take you to the page where you enter your login details (which should show you the error when you try to login and has the help wizard).

It's just more of the same I'm afraid. All passwords are rejected even after resetting them numerous times. I can't log in and I can't set up a new account. I'm already the admin of this one but I can't get in.

avjanet, have you tried following the instructions shown in this post?

Failing that, if your global account is using the same email as the admin account, you can try visiting the Link another forum account page from the account selection page after logging into your global account, then clicking on the Forgot Password link from that page when it asks for the login credentials.

Step 4 below is where the wheels come off the wagon Brian. My password is rejected at that point.

Step-By-Step instructions

Upgrading your account after conversion
1. Go to your forum's home page.
2. Click 'login' in the upper right corner of the forum (if the forum has Guests Must Login enabled, select the login button towards the middle of the page)
3. You will now be on the login page.
4. Enter your Username and Password.
5. You will now be on the Link page. Here you can change the email associated with your ProBoards account by clicking the Change Email button and typing in your desired email address. If you do not wish to do so, and are sure that your email account is valid and activated, enter your forum password in the Verify Password box.
6. You will now be on the Upgrade page.

I can't follow the instruction below for the same reason: my password is rejected.

Rather than entering your forum username and password, enter the email for your global account and its password.

Then follow the instructions in the last paragraph of my previous post. This should allow you to regain access to the account.

When I click on this link to my BetaZone forum bp2beta.freemessageboards.com/

a page comes up that says "this ProBboards forum requires that guests must log in or register. Please log in or register."

When I click on "log in" I get a second page that tells me to log in as either "janet" or "guest". I'm the admin. If I click on either one of the two options offered, I get sent back to the log in in page.

Can you try clearing your cookies and cache, then logging back in?

I did that less than 5 minutes ago and nothing has changed.

Can you just delete that BetaZone forum and let me start over? Since I was never able to access it,  I've made no changes so I have nothing to lose.

You have the option to make up to 5 BetaZone conversions on one key.

Rather than deleting this forum, you can try creating a second one to see if you have better luck with it.
