Div Scrolls

I'm having issues creating a scrolling div inside the plugin for the sidebars. I would post this in the sidebar thread but I'm still waiting for someone to get back to me on another issue. So I'm hoping someone is floating around here and knows what's going on. I used a div layer and added a scroll that worked fine in v4. Now it doesn't work at all. And while I have some of your attention, I was wondering if someone could help me with the header code (<h1>Text</h1>). I have CSS for it and I put into the style sheet in my Beta Tester. The only thing that doesn't work is the width. The background color/image stops right after the words instead of continuing across the line. As well as this, I have two scrolls. When I said "overflow-y:hidden" my forum stopped at the end of the boards and wouldn't continue scrolling so that you could see the tables on the side. So in summary:

1. div layer won't work with scrolls
2. headers (<h1></h1>) width won't go 100%
3. two scrolls bars appear on the page, one for the screen and one for the full forum
