It seems like nearly everyday I am having different problems with my forum. Proboards are pushing updates through regularly (fair enough it is Beta) but this is screwing up the plugins, mods etc Would it not be wise to stop developing (or releasing) plugins etc until these updates are done? To be honest I am beginning to regret 'upgrading' (I say that loosely) to V5 because Ive had nothing but problems. I now find myself removing 'features' on my forum to get rid of errors etc I may aswell go back to the default forum and wait a year till proboards iron out all the bugs. Not happy

Not happy ProBoards V5 is still in beta. Any forums currently running in V5 are in an environment under construction that's always subject to change based on feedback. That's what a beta is. Recently, it was discovered that some plugins were using invalid methods to make their functions work, which is the fault of the plugin developer as they're not supposed to be utilizing said methods. As far as I've read, only your reply button had broken, which I've provided a fix for within 24 hours of you asking. Most plugin authors are prepared to adjust their plugins to work with any changes made to V5 shortly after they're made, as I've had to do plenty of times with my own. All you really have to do is ask for something to be fixed and 9 times out of 10 someone will fix it, and I'd say that's hardly worth complaining about.

We don't monitor every plugin submitted so I don't believe we have a list compiled, but if a plugin isn't working properly, you'll need to contact the author as always.

Hey xLc. We don't have any way of automatically letting forum admins know of plugins that could potentially be causing problems, so for the time being you can always check in on the plugin database yourself. There, both users and plugin authors openly discuss their experiences with plugins and you should be able to find the threads associated with the ones you're using to make a judgement on whether or not there's a problem, and from there, whether or not it's beneficial to disable it until a patch can be applied.

My personal rule of thumb is to bookmark the thread for every plugin or mod I'm using, and that way, if I have a problem or question, I don't have to go hunting all over for it trying to find where it came from.
