I've made no changes (other than themes) but the ajax problems are occurring more frequently. And I'm in Chrome. That's unusual.

Hey ♥ ℒʊ√ ♥, I did notice that you, too, have the Smiley Dropdown and Personal Smileys plugin - I'm not sure whether or not Todge has had a chance to update these with regards to the AJAX errors they've been causing, but I do know that those have generally been the big offenders as far as this issue is concerned.

With that being said though, I navigated around without any error, despite the plugins being enabled. What are you doing when the errors pop up for you?

If it is true that Todge updated those plugins and you've downloaded the new ones and yet are still getting AJAX boxes, clear your cookies and cache and see if that takes care of it.

It's just odd that it's starting now. Todge's plugins were probably among the first I utilized and no problem until yesterday.

♥ ℒʊ√ ♥, it does appear that your errors are isolated to the PMs only, which is strange - other users reporting the AJAX problems are able to recreate their issue not only when trying to post a full reply but also before submitting a quick reply.

Can you disable the Personal Smileys plugin temporarily, then try to prompt the error with another PM? If you still get it, re-enable Personal Smileys and disable Smiley Dropdown. One of the two plugins is causing the problem, I'm almost positive. This will determine which.

As for why the problems are starting now, we don't really know for sure. It has to do with specific code that some plugins use.

And yes, I'll disable both plug-ins one at a time and see what happens and let you know.

David Clark, yup. It's the Smiley Dropdown. I could send with the personal smilies enabled and not get the ajax message. Enabled it again, and got the message again.

I know Todge is doing his very best to straighten it out. At least it allows you to send the message after making your choice to leave the page so nothing too earth shattering.

If I know Todge (which I don't, personally, but his work is great!) then he'll figure out some kind of workaround for this post haste. Until he can, however, you'll either have to bear the popup or disable the dropdown plugin.

wmmyoung, I popped in to check on your plugins and did note that you have Todge's smiley dropdown plugin installed and enabled - I just wanted to mention that a few of our members found that disabling that provides relief from the errors. Until Todge can provide an updated version that doesn't prompt the AJAX problem, this is unfortunately the only solution.
