Background Image sizes?

I like to use images for my wallpapers on my sites. I have different ones on different boards too. I know how to choose to center them or place to the left or right. Also, how to choose to make them scroll or stay fixed.

My problem is I don't know the exact image size so that they won't repeat on the sides when my centered, fixed image is not large enough.

Does anyone know the dementions of the background sizes, so I may find something that fits perfectly?

Due to the various different screen resolutions that are being used on the web today, there really isn't a standard size that is guaranteed to work for everyone. What you should do is make a topic or poll on your forum and ask your forum members what screen resolutions they use, and compare that with yours. From there, you can determine what the size the background image you use will work best
