Recently Updated Thread or New Thread Button

Hi All,
 V5 is much better than the V4, my forum users really seem to like it. However, there is one feature which I remember putting a code into V4 for but I can't find anything for V5.

How can I add a "new threads" button to the nav. bar so that it takes folks to all the recently updated threads since their last visit? I tried searching to see if anything had been mentioned about this and didn't find anything, so I apologize if someone has asked about this already.  I'm sure this is probably a super simple header/footer code or something, but I haven't done any code writing in years so I'm more than a bit rusty.

There are links for new threads and posts in the info center. You can add custom navigation bar items using the URLS "/recent/threads" and "/recent/posts" to add these links to the navigation menu.
