New Topics Opens Shoutbox

Several of my board members have reported a similar bug.  I have a 'New Topics' button at the top of the page and they say that clicking it takes them to the shoutbox and not to 'New topics.  The Forum is my-liverpool.proboards.com/ i have asked for feedback re browsers to see if it is a particular browser causing the problem.

Have you checked what the link in the settings for the Navigation menu is? It should be "/threads/recent". When you hover over the button, does it say what the link is in your browser status bar?

Yes Shrike, the path is correct, this only happens to some Forum Members and in some cases apparently briefly takes them to the shoutbox before loading New Topics. So far the error has only been reported by people using IE as a browser.

Just wanted to note that the shoutbox does appear on the recent topics page, so it is possible that the shoutbox loads first before the recent topics load. Just depends on their connection.

After some investigation, this appears to be linked to a bug with the Search bar, where it eliminates all of the contents of a board (or in this case, the Recently Updated Threads list) and the search bar has a permanent spinning load indicator as if searching for nothing. I was able to replicate the issue when using Internet Explorer 9 in IE7 and IE8 mode - IE9, Chrome and Firefox all do not suffer from this error. The posts disappear and the shoutbox is the only visible thing left.

We're aware of the search bug, once we can get that squared away this shouldn't be a problem for you.

As I am having an issue where I click on a board - it shows me the topics and then then disapper and I have a row with a search box with a symbol spinning in it, I came on here to see if there was a solution.

So problem is still there for some proboards users. It has not stopped being an issue for me.

This bug has not yet been fixed to my knowledge.

Sorry for the misunderstanding: bobed's forum is what is now functioning correctly. The original issue has been tended to by our developers, and the fix is slated to go live with the next code push, which will hopefully happen within the next week. Thank you for your patience.
