Post can't be edited

On this thread the post made by pauliana can't be editied.  It is the 4th post down from the top.

When you press the <edit> button, the writing area is blank.  What can be causing this so we can change what we are doing?   There is no problem editing other posts.

Hey paulam - this is strange! I'm going to be moving this into the bugs section, as we've replicated your error and this shouldn't be happening. It seems to blow away the contents of the message even when trying to quote it.

Is it possible to get any additional info from Pauliana regarding anything special she may have done during the formatting of her post?

We did a little test and apparently there IS something in the simple note on-line database that causes the blank page. I copied the text from a simple note entry that caused the blank page, ran it through textfixer www.textfixer.com/tools/remove-line-breaks.php

Then re-pasted the text into SN. Then copied the text and pasted it into a forum post....no blank page. Don't have a clue why, but maybe your bug detection folks would.

It does appear that whatever was causing this is no longer a problem, as both CheatAreZee and I were able to reproduce this error yesterday, but not today. Is everything kosher, paulam?

yes, thank you the problem was resolved by passing the text through Textfixer. Apparently some character or so may be been in the problem post?

Probably a bit of erroneous code that got mistakenly copied into the post. Let us know if it happens again so that we can identify the offending bit, and find out if it is something we can prevent in the future.
