I did reply to my other topic about this, but I think I've waited long enough to get a response. I think the reason it was ignored is due to the number of posts in it, some may feel it was resolved. It really hasn't. Initially when I brought this topic up I was told to completely log out and back in and it should fix the issue. Which it seemed to do. I had created a new account and it had done it to me again. I discovered that when switching back to my "admin" account after creating a new one, it was doing this to me. I created a new account last night, and remembering what went wrong last time, when I was finished the profile for the character, I completely logged out and back in and chose my "admin" Dominic Salvatore account. When I got on today, it was logged into my Bethany Salvatore account. I was told last time that nobody else had brought this issue to your attention but maybe nobody else has 60 plus accounts like I do. Can this please be looked into thanks. I love you guys and I know you usually have a very quick turn around of answers, but this has been ongoing on and off for a few weeks now and obviously it's still not resolved. With my OCD issues, I am finding this a little irritating. Thanks.

Apologies for the delay, Mands - but while the support admins do indeed float about the entirety of the support forum helping where they can, the focal point for us is the support board. For particularly expeditious responses to forum-related issues, I encourage you to post your inquiries there. I'm going to look into this issue a bit for you and see if I can't recreate it myself. Give me a bit.

I appreciate that, but I honestly didn't feel that it was really a "support" issue - as in not too terribly important. I only re-posted it here again as this was where my original topic on it was. I don't get the problem immediately or even an hour or two afterward. It seems to be after I have created a new account, but I don't find out that I am being swapped accounts until I come back on after being away asleep over night. It's an unusual one, I appreciate that, but thanks.

So I went ahead and made a few (a LOT) of accounts on my test forum and so far haven't been able to replicate the problem of selecting one forum account, leaving the forum, and then coming back to find that I'm logged into another. This issue you're experiencing is certainly an annoyance, but it is still possible to switch accounts using the PBN bar in the lower right corner, correct? Do you browse your forums with a lot of tabs, Mands? It is also possible that the error came about by opening a new tab and switching accounts in that one while leaving the other tabs logged in. I do recall getting some reports that that was causing issues.

I may have a few tabs opened at the one time, but not for my site. I only ever have my site opened on the one tab. I have a second tab for Facebook and a third tab for the support site while I'm on it, or my image hosting site if I'm on it, or any other site. But the third tab is never open constantly. But I always have my site on one tab {the first as it's my default site} and Facebook on the second.
I never use several tabs at once for my site, and therefore I have never switched in one tab while on another account in the main tab. No, not done that at all. As I say it's not something that happens immediately. When I am finished writing for my few characters for the night I will always switch back to my "admin" account as that's the one I can do changes on if necessary.
The problem isn't ALWAYS happening, but I have worked it out to the point that it's ALWAYS when I have created a new account. So since I realised it was doing it then, I took Brian Ordonez's advice and when I was finished with the "new" account, I logged out completely and re-logged in and selected my "admin" account. Now the last new account I created AFTER Brians' advice, I logged out, switched off computer, went to sleep. Next evening I came on, called up my site, still logged into my "admin" account.
Last night, created a new account, finished the profile, logged out completely of the "new" account and logged in again, chose my "admin" account. Carried on until I was leaving, still on my "admin" account, turned off computer, went to sleep, came on this evening, called up my site, logged into Bethany Salvatore - not my "admin" account.
Yes, I can still switch accounts, so technically it's not THAT much of a problem, but it bothers me when I know I chose my "admin" account and that's the one that should be logged in the next evening. LOL

I understand your frustration, Mands. Can I have you try to clear your cookies and cache and see if that does anything in the way of taking care of this problem? I see you're using Chrome, so just hit ctrl+shift+del on your keyboard and the dialog will pop up. Just make sure the dropdown box is set to "the beginning of time".

I can do that, but that means that all my saved passwords etc., will be gone, right? Which means I'll have to technically log back into everything? Grr LOL It's not a problem really, but I do have a lot of sites that I ask to be remembered on and of course doing that will clear all of that out. I will just have to try and remember my log in details for everything. I do typically try to use the same username for general sites and passwords, but ones that I have created accounts on a while back, me be different to what I use now. But I won't know if doing that really fixes the issue until the next time I create a new account though. lol

Alrighty, here's an alternate solution for you: Do you happen to have Firefox or Internet Explorer on your computer? If you can get the same glitch in those browsers, we know that it doesn't pertain to your cookies. Beyond that, the cookies alone are what save your login sessions. You can clear your cache without fear.

I don't use IE at all - it's way too slow! Firefox WAS my main browser until I got issues with it not keeping my graphics in place, mainly the site headers. The soon as I went onto another tab for any length of time - my graphic would be gone and wouldn't come back until I scrolled on the site. Didn't have that issue with Chrome, hence it being my main browser now. It's okay I will just do as you ask, because some of the other sites, are just photo gallery sites and if I can't remember my log in details, I'll just register a new account on them. LOL

I won't ask you to perform any solution that poses an inconvenience to you, Mands, but this issue is unprecedented so it's best that we turn every stone so to speak. At this point we're just trying to figure not only what the problem is but also why it's happening. Let me know what you get, though.

Okay, I've done it, but obviously I won't know if it's worked until I create another new account next time and see what happens when I call up my site the next evening. Will keep you posted should it happen again. Edit: We posted at the same time. LOL I've done it, it's all good - just refer to above ^^

But of course - I'm optimistic about this solution, especially if it's been a while since the last time you cleared your browser data. Please do check back!

I will do and no, I hadn't cleared out the cache or cookies since I started using Chrome as my default browser, and I reckon that was around February/March some time. But Chrome had always been my backup browser and I would have been on and off of it several times since I got it and that was quite a while ago.

David Clark Hiya, The pest again! You know that I cleared out my cache etc.,? Well I haven't even made a new account and today it has logged me into my Nathan Black account instead of my "admin" and I know that I switched back to it last night as I was adding a site header/banner to my random banner plugin. So now it's not just happening when I create a new account. I want to know why this is happening and it appears to only be happening to MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Lol I think it might be because of the number of accounts that I have on my global email. And I intend to be creating many more. I'm a creative writer - basically role play writing, but I do it alone. I am forever thinking of new characters and plot ideas. I imagine that I will stop at some point, when I have either run out of names or celebrity faces to use. LOL I realise that this is a really difficult thing to try and get an answer for and I know that I can easily switch which isn't that big of a deal, but the fact is, when I have switched to my "admin" account it should stay logged in. I do have my "admin" account logged in on Firefox and it's always logged on when I call it up. Sometimes while on a member account on Chrome, I need to fix a previous post due to a misspelling and I use Firefox in order to do that. That said, I have not switched account on Firefox since I made Chrome my default browser. Any tips on how this can be permanently resolved?!

Now I come on this evening and I'm logged out completely! Ugh! Sorry. But it's really annoying me now.
