Move Topic PM

Not sure if this is for some reason intentional, but if it is, it makes no sense.
As a staff member (admin), I moved a topic (entire thread) to another board.
I selected the option to send the topic creator a PM notifying them, but not leaving a message in the thread listing of the board it was originally posted in.

The PM sent fine, I have not opened it, BUT it doesn't have a "new" icon next to it.

My forum, in the right side tells you how many new PM's you have, and how many you have total.
The total went from 3, to 4, but the new remained at 2 instead of going to 3.

So I just checked the PM, so NOW it shouldn't show as new. The contents look fine, and to be what they were supposed to be.
Surely it should show as a new message for people though.

Can you make this happen every time? I sent a PM to myself (using the move thread feature) and got the correct notification for it.

Hi Michael. I just tested it, and again it did the same thing. I had 4 PMs total, and 2 new.
I sent that and I still have 2 new PMs, but I now have 5 total in my inbox.

If it helps, the first time it happened it was a Poll that I moved. However, this second time it was a normal Thread.

Just out of curiosity, are you moving your own threads (and hence sending a PM to yourself...from yourself)?

Yes. I should still get it, surely.

I was just checking because when I send it to another account (not one of mine) the PM is received normally and correctly, when sending it to yourself it has issues. I've filed a bug report for this.

For some reason I am thinking it's going to actually be a "it's not actually a bug, it's intended"..
Right ok, it is just when you move your own threads, you don't get notified.

I created a test account called miffy, and:

"Welcome back miffy. You have 1 new messages
Inbox (1) / Outbox / New Message"


Also made miffy a global mod, and moved a topic of the admin accounts.
Also works. it shows as new.

"Welcome back Stinky666. You have 3 new messages
Inbox (6) / Outbox / New Message"

If you could bring up the whole argument of, "what if I get drunk one night and go on a "cleaning" spree..." lol.
