Post Results In Search

i just ran into a situation that i would be in every month, so i requested a plugin to add what i need. im not requesting anything here, but i guess i am then if you wanted to add this stuff back to v5

i started this thread to see if you have more plans for the Post Results for the Search that include what i just requested as a plugin. this seemed like the proper board because you mention future plans here if it was requested

please let me know if theres anything that pbs is going to add, or if anything is possible with a plugin i would need

at the end of every month i do over 100 searches and archive hundreds of threads from the previous month. i copy the urls from the Post List search, thats how it was in 4.5, and copy the url of a thumbnail in every thread, then copy the Thread Title Text, and paste all that into my archives threads

there was a variable, $[post.thread], for Thread URLs i used in the Post List Template that displayed a url until the new variable you can use as text. if any variables are needed ill request them. im not sure how things work in plugins

id like to control the padding and text style with css, it can be in the Components Tab of the plugin

if possible id like to show the Search Result # on the rite of the New Row, controlled with css also. if a variable is needed ill request one

We will discuss this, but I really have no idea of the outcome. I can promise you it won't be before launch in any case.

Edit: So I just went to my v4 forum to see what you were talking about and honestly I see nowhere that it displays the URL of the post or thread. What I did figure out is that in v4 you can right click on the thread title and click 'Copy Link Location' (Firefox, I'm sure every browser has the equivalent) and it gives you the URL. Then I went to v5 and sure enough the exact same thing works. It works on thumbnails/attachments as well.

Your request is clearly something that people aren't doing on a regular basis (although you may be) but it seems as though I already found a way to do what you are requesting. If I misunderstood what it is you are doing or describing then please clarify and hopefully I can come up with a better solution for you.
