Shoutbox

Hello,

I am Mr. Tyler Getz, I am the owner of World Wrestling Entertainment Online; a WWE Game's league for the XBOX 360 consol. I was against switching to ProBoards v5, but after testing it out and working through the tough parts on one of my old sites that I shut down, I came to like it so I switched. I'm wondering, for how much better, cleaner, ProBoards v5 is, where is the shoutbox? Is there still a shoutbox? I read about it in a setting, but when I go to find it, it's not there.

Help would be appreciated, Thank You.

Hi Mr. Tyler Getz. To enable/disable (and apply other settings) to/for your Shoutbox, go to your Admin Panel > Settings > Forum Settings.
Then click the "Shoutbox" tab.

Now, quick question, is there anyway to get the shoutbox on top of the website instead of down below?

There sure is.
By default, it's on ALL forum pages (so it shows on the main page, in threads etc).

Do you want it to remain like this, or do you want it on the main page only?
Also, do you want it above or below the ads and if below them, do you want it above or below the navigation tree?

I want it moved from below the forum to above the forum. So I would rather it below the banner instead of below the info. center.

Ok. The one thing I really need you to answer though, is do you want it on all pages like it is currently, or JUST on the main page?

Ok. In that case then:

Admin > Themes > Layout Templates > Forum Wrapper

Towards the bottom you should see $[shoutbox]
Move that UP to line 59, approx (i've made changes so lines may not be the same).
But so it looks like this (also, add the <br /> too)


$[header]
$[shoutbox]<br /><br />

Alright, thank you! I successfully have moved it up to the top.

I have one question about the shoutbox, is there anyway that I can have that you can post YouTube video's in it, and that when you post a link you don't have to put in the code for the link?
