Duplicate Thread(s)

The title can be read as one of two things, but this is what I am suggesting..


Can we have an option under "moderate" to duplicate a thread? Preferably duplicate multiple at a time, but with a limit, and a time limit too.
So for example, you can only duplicate 20 times in the space of 2 hours. Or heck, be stricter, 100 in 24hrs.

Ohh ohh I want to change this suggestion to something else!!
I just noticed that, I have 75 topics I want to merge into ONE single thread. I selected multiple of the threads to attempt this, went to Actions > Moderate > Move. I see no way to merge/move to an existing thread


So, could that be added please?

Duplicate is already on our list. As you read they will be separate threads with separate IDs and the same content at the time of duplication. After that they become their own threads with their own replies. Stinky666 you call that brilliant, but that's actually just how our system operates. In case any one tries to request it the other option of them being the same thread in 2 places is not viable and will not be added.

Merge does already exist, go into a single thread and move any or all of it's posts. You don't merge threads, you merge posts from a thread into other threads. Merging 75 separate threads into one single one would kill your forum. That's why that isn't an option.

I'm sorry to reject your second idea, though you could still do it if you took the time. Your first idea will eventually get added though, so there's that.

Not exactly fun to go through 75 topics to merge them all though
What if you could only select 10 topics at a time, or so many topics depending on how many posts are in - with a maximum of 50? 100? posts..?

I'll add this idea to the list. i talked to Martyn Dale and he thinks it wont be as killer using a method he came up with.

That being said this is still a long time from ever being implemented. V5.x for sure.

That'd be great if it can be done without it being a killer.
Of course as for it not being for a while, that's fine. It'll be one of those thankful moments when it does happen
