Before I upgrade do i need to anything ?

Do i need to save anything before I upgrade, theme icons, smilies etc  or remove any codes ?

I assume your images are hosted somewhere, so they'll be ok, header and footer codes get removed in the upgrade, and are stored for you in the header/footer area for reference. many codes are now replaced by built in features, or maybe available as a plugin.

Thanks for your replay . No,they're hosted but some are hosted on an image shack account that i have no access to. I'll need to check that before i convert.
I won't lose any content then, photos etc

If there's going to be a problem with accessing photos etc, it might be a good idea to make a copy of them on your computer, this is standard practice for me anyway.
But everything posted (including photos) should all still be there.
