Our board 'GlesgaChinas' is running very slow and taking ages to change pages. I've noticed that it's the same when I log in here to Proboards forum. All other websites are fine. I'd be grateful if you could tell me how can we solve this problem before our members lose their patience? Thanks

Hi, pennycaramel. Can you pay a visit to SpeedTest and let me know what your current internet speed is? Do you experience any slow loading on any other content-heavy websites?

I only had trouble on Photobucket when they upgraded recently but they seem to have sorted that now, all other websites are fine. Would clearing out PM's help?

I have just carried out another speed test, this is what it reads this time......
I am a member of 2 other proboards which haven't yet upgraded, I have no problem with them, they are both running at normal speed

Have you tried viewing any V5 forums on a different browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome to see if there's any improvements in speed?

No Brian, I tried Google Chrome a long time ago and didn't like it so reverted back to the standard Google but I will give it another go and see if it helps.

I've switched to Google Chrome and the problem is solved, the board is up to speed now thanks, but I have lost all my tools, especially my 'Favourites' button?

You don't have to use Chrome permanently (although it displays the forum much more properly than IE7), but it helps narrow down the problem a bit. Now we know that it's a browser-based problem and your forum is likely running at the proper speed for everyone else. Can you try clearing your cookies and cache in IE7 and seeing if that helps remedy the issue in that browser? Note that this will log you out of any sites you're currently logged into, but will get rid of any excess data being retained by your browser.

Now that I have found my 'Favourites' button, along with the tool bar, I am beginning to like Google Chrome.
I have advised members who are having the same problem with their board running slow to switch to it too.
Thanks for your help Brian

Very well. If you still feel like sorting out the IE7 issue, please refer to my previous post.
