Hi i need help

HI i dont know if i am in the right place to post this i am such a novice. Ok so i think i mastered the basics of seeting up my little forum. This is my first try at anything like this before. I have manged to set out the topic and even added captions. So was feeling might pleased with myself to be honest. I have to say i have been working on it for a whole week !! but We all have to start to learn some where lol. The problem is i dont understand any of the pc lingo only realised to day my URL was the name of my site I told you a complete novice.

As i say i was doing good till i tried to add a new category to my forum  it posted the caption ok but would not let me post the board  too it. as there was none to choose from in my drop down box which was strange as i had just set up a new catergory !! Now it wont even let me delete it what did i do wrong can anyone explain it to me in plain talk thank you so much
