It would be interesting to have a coming soon section showing what plugins are currently pending approval. like posters at a movie theatre... "In a world, where themes and plugins have taken over forum design, one lone plugin dares to defy the odds. raised from alpha, this plugin was continually beseiged by bugs and glitches, only to emerge as a victorius beta... but will it last? will it ever evolve into a full release someday? will it defeat the dark lord Martyn? With the help of a crew of misfits like Eton and Peter, and guided by the old sage Camara, our plugin will push the boundaries of all that is good and just in this world of proboards... or fail and be deleted forever. Rated PG-13 for excessive swearing and occasional nudity." - read in moviephone man's voice. I like your idea and I like how you presented it. The problem being that before we let anyone see anything publicly like that it has to be reviewed. So if we added a coming soon section we would have to review the images being displayed there before they could be displayed. Then after that we would go and have to review the plugin/theme itself anyway. At that point why don't we just expedite the process and review the theme/plugin and get it public ASAP. Basically we already review the images at the time that we review the actual plugin/theme. No reason we would do it twice (since part of reviewing is making sure the images are related to the content).

In the future, will there be any way to adjust the version updates - they seem to include all previous updates unless you completely delete everything, which I'd prefer not to do. A good example of this is the Awards System plugin by Todge.

completely delete everything There's your answer. We do it this way so that we can more easily display the time stamps and version numbers when viewing in the library. Additionally, in the future we plan to add the ability to view specific versions, where only earlier parts of the changelog would be relevant. Doing it this way also requires less duplicated data, even though it's a very small amount. However, if you have any suggestions on how we could streamline the process (that isn't just erase the changelog on library upload), I'd love to hear (and eventually implement) them.

I was thinking of just moving all the change log notes to development and only putting the current versions changes in the change log area... but that wont fix the previous uploads to the library. could you make it where we can edit that data and clean it up ourselves?

I like your idea of moving it to the development log. I'm not sure how easy it would be to give you access to editing older versions at this point, since we'd have to create an entirely new interface for doing so. I'll see if I can't come up with some automated-type solution for that, especially when we get closer to a more transparent versioning system.

ok so here is another suggestion.
last night during the glitch I was editing one of my plugins. the glitch made it stop working completely. I thought it was because I had made some sort of catastrophic error on my part. frustrated, I decided to delete the version I was working on and revert back to the previous version I had.
my problem was all of the versions I have been exporting were non-editable. so I essentially locked myself out of my own apartment. I ended up going back 4 versions to one I had on the first test site that I am trying to redo all of the changes I have made since.
so as a suggesiton, it would be good if the library gave the author of the plugin the option to download the plugin as an editable version. if thats even possible.

That functionality already exists (it would be hard to review a non-editable plugin), so it shouldn't be hard to implement. I'll add it to the list.

Just added some plugins to the library that us developers here at ProBoards have whipped up over the past few weeks. Try 'em out and let us know what you think!

Thanks for adding download counts for plugin developers. Is there any chance you can display the total download/install amounts?

Do you mean the total number across all of an authors items? Yes, the total installs/downloads an author has; like how it shows the average rating across all the plugins the author has.
