Stop certain threads from appearing in 'Participated'

I love the participated button as I can see new posts without having to leave the page I'm currently reading. That said, there are threads I've stopped reading and yet they appear in 'Participated' whenever someone posts in them. It would be nice to have the possibility to exclude threads from appearing in 'Participated'. I'd really appreciate it if you considered this, thanks in advance.

We already have a large list of features and feature requests for the participated button and dialog. This is one of them.

In one of our future updates we will be adding more control.
