Can you try doing a right click via the touchpad buttons, and select "open in new tab" that way?

In compliance with web standards, V5 software doesn't define new tab, new window, or same tab policy on pages, as this is a setting the user can change in their browser. Most browsers provide a shortcut consisting of a key held down to open links in new tabs.
