Adding content to Sidebar Redux

This is probably simple stuff, but could someone explain to me how to add content to Sidebar Redux? What I would like is for the sidebar to be only on the right side, where I would like the shoutbox to be displayed, as opposed to the bottom of the forum, as well as some widgets, such as Recent Threads, Recent Posts, or Polls? I would also prefer the sidebar only be displayed on the main page of the forum.

Hi Kfander,

When you go to your admin panel, click on Plugin Settings, then Sidebar Redux. You'll see tabs across the top of the plugin interface. Just click on the Right Sidebar Tab then name the first content box. Add some content just to get started. Like "Welcome." Then scroll down to the bottom and click save. Make sure you've checked the little checkbox at the top for Enabled.

You should now see the sidebar on the right of your forum.

As for the sidebar only appearing on the "Main Page" that is another subject entirely. The plugin moves your whole forum and will stay visible when you're posting. I'm sure a more advanced coder might have another solution but I'm not certain it can be done.

^ I would like to revisit this, because I am currently having the same problem. I just managed to move the shout box to the sidebar. But I still want to add a poll and a recent threads section. I already know how and where to add the content. I just don't know what exactly I need to add to make those things appear on the sidebar.

Unless that information is available on every page of the forum, it's not possible to integrate it into the sidebar.

It can only grab things that are already on the page using Javascript, which looks for the things you can visually see on the page. It has no interaction with the backend of ProBoards, so it cannot be made to fetch that information.
