Hello there all, I am certain that this has probably been brought up already so if someone can link a previous thread that would be great. I have a really good image displayed on my site's background. However, because of the forum layout, you can barely see it. I want to fade the Black Background at least on the main page and see thru the categories to at least give a better glimpse of the background. I have the image set to fixed so that it's visible and I'm not concerned about the headers scrolling past, I just want the category boxes affected. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. J.D.M.

I find the easiest way to make changes is just to add the change to the bottom of the style sheet.
Admin > Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS and then click on the Style Sheet tab and add this to the very bottom.
/*changes opacity of container content background*/ .container>.content{ opacity:0.9; filter:alpha(opacity=90); }
Let me know if that is what you had in mind.

It worked very well, however is there a way to make it only affect the homepage? I want the see for the categories on the main page, but it cold be a bit distracting in the posting threads.

Oh and I upped the opacity to 0.8, enough to see the colors in the image, but still keep good shading

If you find that doesn't work for you, at a later time, you can put that in your main header, rather than the style sheet, to affect the main page only.
<style> /*changes opacity of container content background*/ .container>.content{ opacity:0.9; filter:alpha(opacity=90); } </style>
Actually, 8 is more transparent.
