codes, need help

okay so i am so confused about the whole code stuff and i dont know if you can use the codes you used for v4 or not

Hi, ~Castiel is Love~.

V4 codes are no longer applicable to V5, as they rely on V4's exact HTML. Since V5 has an entirely new layout, the HTML has changed drastically. However, there are several Plugins that achieve what several of the V4 codes did, and even new ones that do entirely new things relating to V5. All of these require little to no code knowledge, as the application of the plugins is handled via a settings page.

It's likely that little to no codes will exist for the headers and footers, as it's much easier to directly modify the HTML of your forum's layout via Structure > Layout Templates than make a code that rearranges everything.

If what you're looking for doesn't exist, you can always make a request for a template modification or plugin in the appropriate board. For template modifications, feel free to tag me by typing @smashmaster3 in your post and I'll be happy to help you with anything you haven't already found.
