i put this in to change my hr lines but it affects every hr line everywhere on the forum. hr lines in html tables i added to the forum, hr lines i added in templates. i only want it to change the hr lines in posts and conversations. i tried
hr .posts .post .content
because that changes the font in posts only but it didnt work
and id like to have it not affect certain boards
hr { height: 2px; background-color: #000000; color: #000000; border: 0; }

You had the right idea, but you placed the CSS selectors in the incorrect order.
The correct order would be:
Always place them in the order they appear in the HTML.

thanks brian. i got that from smangiis site. i had boards where i have hr lines and text real close and the 2px border looked bad but i just put an !important in the plugin for those boards so i dont need the exclude boards
