V4 News Fader 1.1.2

Brian Hi! I have been trying to add html coding to the news fader version 1.0.1 - it's the one I wanted, and it had been working fine, but tonight, try as I might, every time I try to add a new code, it's deleting the bottom one off every single time. It's highly frustrating. I am trying to store my character gifs in the news fader and as I say it was working, but I decided to cut the number of gifs down as I had too many. So I removed some and then continued to try and add more new ones, and it keeps skipping some and deleting some off. I had added six, but it's only accepted four of them, as it keeps deleting one of them off all the time. Have you any idea what could be wrong? Maybe the server is being icky... It's really late for me now, so I will try again tomorrow. If it's still doing the same thing, I will post back here and hope that you can help me on Monday.

Mands, if you completely empty the text in an existing row the page will usually delete it. I'm afraid I don't have any explanation other than that.

That's a feature of the Manage page for plugins rather than something I have control over.

No Brian this was still happening last night with new text in new boxes. And it was still deleting the last entry - not every time, but often enough that the only way it would work was by pasting a code, then saving - each single one. Having about 50 or so gifs, that was quite a tiresome task. But it was a work around, and now that I will only be adding one or two at a time from now on, it shouldn't be so bothersome if I have to still constantly do that. I figured when I was doing it with pasting over an existing code, that's why it was doing it, but then it started doing it even with new codes in new boxes... not sure why though.

Newbie here so just need a heads-up as to how I get this incorporated into my forum. I just want the current news feed to display plus the most recently updated thread and latest person to join.

This plugin supports the addition of the newest thread and user but completely replaces the default news feed. If you're okay with that the instructions to add that information are in the first post.

OK thanks. It's a bit beyond me at the moment I think and am a bit concerned that i'll end up borking the forum so will have to leave it as is for now.

OK thanks. It's a bit beyond me at the moment I think and am a bit concerned that i'll end up borking the forum so will have to leave it as is for now. 

If you're worried about irreversibly messing up a theme you can always create a duplicate of that theme and test there. In Themes > Theme Manager one of the options when creating a new theme is Copy an Existing Theme. You can experiment within the copied theme to your heart's content.

I've managed to get it working on my forum now but just a little unsure how to get the font colour changed. I see the code you posted on page one but where exactly do I place this. I've experimented a little but it doesn't work so I am clearly doing it in the wrong place :/

The code there is for the title bar.

You can change the title bar text color with this:

.v4news > .title-bar h2 {
    color: #00af33;
}

While the content within the news feed is affected by this:

.v4news > .content {
    color: #00af33;
}

It's only pulling 2 news articles .. how do I get it to pull more?

Can you link to a page where the plugin isn't working correctly?

The plugin doesn't pull anything. It should just copy whatever you have specified in your news feed directly from the original element's children on the page.

I disabled it for now because it was only grabbing the 2 newest threads in the news section. ewcprez.proboards.com is the link

In Settings > News Feed try changing the animation back to Slide.

Flip has different HTML structure so the plugin doesn't see it correctly.

It can only grab what's currently on the page, so nope.

You can change your forum's news feed settings to grab the most recent threads from a specific board but that's the closest you'll get.
