Putting location in mini profile?

I found this old thread and followed the instructions:

My issue is that it only works for *some* people. At first I figured that it was because not everybody entered a location in their full profile- but upon further investigation, this was not the case. 

Has anyone got any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Which forum is this happening on? And did you add it on all of your themes?

Also, can you link me to a specific instance where it does not work 100% of the time?

No, actually, not anymore!!! Maybe it just took a little time to populate or something? I was ripping my hair out with this, left the computer for a while, and now that I'm back, everything is in order exactly as it should be!

I'm sorry it seems like I wasted your time but I'm happy it's working!
