I have received this message also, when attempting to edit a post. It does seem to be random, and it removes all of the changes I've made to my post. However, I've found that if I hit the browser "back" button after getting this message, my screen returns to the post with my edits intact, and I can save it again without having to start over. Maybe this will be helpful for you until the reason for the issue is found

Hi RetroLisa, Out of curiosity, does your forum have the Yootil plugin installed as well? Or no? If it doesn't, can you provide the URL to the forum in question please? (Same for anyone else that gets this message, just in case it may be deeper than a plugin issue)

Just for the sake of testing, going along with some things that have been posted previously in this topic, if you were to temporarily disable that plugin do you still experience the issue? Or does it go away for you without it?

If it helps, what I did was disabled ALL plugins, then ONLY enabled the Yootil, and that's when I started getting the error again. SO perhaps try that, and anyone else that has come across this issue.. ?

I don't get the error very often. Now that I think of it, I haven't gotten it at all in the past few days. I will disable the plugin, although it might be hard to tell if the solution is working because (for me, anyways) the occurences were random and widely spaced. Hopefully it will be helpful

I don't have the Yootil Plug-in and I got the message. and I do have the plugin enabled and have just made a few threads and posts and done a couple of edits. I have not had the message? Everything worked fine. Are we barking up the wrong plugin?

sxteveuk, I was stating (for Peter's benefit) that this is more likely a parsing problem rather than a plugin problem, he's on a PB hiatus and would more than likely be wasting his time trying to track a bug down that has nothing to do with yootils (as also confirmed by ♥ ℒʊ√ ♥) as I did during the Salem Witch Hunt. Your observations are appreciated because it adds to the mountain of data sometimes needed for proper diagnostics but I was speaking directly to Peter. Why a plug in at all? Why not a parsing problem as suggested above?

Some of my members on my forum evthreads.proboards.com is having issues posting. This is what one of my members wrote on our support sub-board, giving her perspective on it. I have 3 plugins. I think I might have not updated some of them in a while. To the right of the name is the version number. Resize Or Replace Signature Image (BZ) - version 0.2.2 VSoundCloud - version 1.0.0 Back to Top - version 1.6.0 Reading the thread where I was quoted. Sounds like the VSoundCloud plugin might be causing the problem, right? since it is intermittent (I'm hearing around 1 in every 20 attempts) the method of disabling plugins then testing would need multiple posting attempts between state changes (minimum 30) before reaching any reliable conclusions. With intermittent problems that cause and effect method needs much longer durations or you will reach the wrong conclusions. I'll also note that it appears to be certain ubbc constructs that trigger this so you might ask your members experiencing this problem to make note of what they were posting exactly. I tried for several hours to trigger it with no luck but when given the following UBBC it finally triggered on the first try
{Brittany Snow}• [a href="/thread/24825"]2013[/a] • [a href="/thread/20196"]2012[/a] • [a href="/thread/10288"]2011[/a] • [a href="/thread/6150"]2010[/a]
The problem is I could not get it to trigger again with 40+ tries ( in Firefox v20) in order to trace back to the cause.

Hi, Eaton I see the post above 40+tries in Firefox 20 - the latest version is 21 Not sure if that helps any...
I saw many where having this issue with the Chrome browser I had Chrome - I uninstalled it and all instances of it - ((and Google update)) And for the moment I haven't had that Reset error Or the You Must Provide Message Error
I'll keep you posted if I have any problems or get the errors appear again
Steve
Don't know that helps any -

Stevexuk, at the time of that post I was on version 20 which is why I noted that version in the first place (since it was not in the original quote) with that important fact. The observation about webkit (Chrome/Safari) is dead on since most who had this error were using that platform but it did replicate in Firefox so not safe to say platform-specific just a propensity to occur more often in webkit.

Just wanted to note that one of our developers are looking into this issue, I've also linked them to this topic just in case they may have any questions for those that experience it

Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out how to fix this issue, but so far I haven't been able to reproduce this issue yet. I'm pretty sure the yootil plugin is NOT the cause though.
Has anyone had this happen when posting here on Support?
