V5 News Feed (Fader) too fast.

Not long ago (while still using v4) I requested and received a code for slowing down the News Fader beyond the slowest setting, and it worked well.

I've just been upgraded to v5 and what is now the News Feed is too fast for my taste.

Before I start monkeying around with the unfamiliar settings, do I need a different code, will the same one work (I can't even find where to put it) or should I just give up and accept things as they are?

Do you have the newsfader on the slowest setting? If so, you will need a new code, as the V4 code isn't compatible with the V5 software.

You can request a plugin to fix this.

Have you checked Brians plugin, that makes the v5 news fader into the v4 one? It has more speed settings as well.

Okay, I'm experimenting with adding the old (v4) news fader to v5. However, it doesn't replace the v5 fader, it adds it to the main page above it. Assuming I get the v4 version working the way it used to, is there a way to suppress the v5 news feed?

admin/ settings/ newsfeed/  select disabled instead of enabled.
