To elaborate a little further on my previous post, there were security issues with the specific plugin I released. I personally think HTML in posts and iFrames in posts can be done, but should be limited to only specific members. I would highly recommend anyone making such a plugin include the ability for the admin to limit who can use HTML in posts and use these controls to only allow members they trust, as HTML in posts can allow security risks to be introduced.
Alternatively, a plugin that only allowed only basic HTML elements would be more secure, as it would stop members from using scripts, iframes, and other code to load outside content.

I do agree with this, as now only admins can use the iFrames we use. We use it to display difficult tables and such, which are auto generated by another external server. Maybe there is another way to display them but at this moment they auto update, if the server gets a new batch upload, and thats a bit nicer then editing each post |
