Wormo, I just want to establish two things:

* Can one install multiple copies of the Alters Extension plugin and expect lots more Alter storage?

* What is the order the Alter plugins need to be in to function properly if you are using all of them?  I know the Extension says it needs to be above the main plugin, but I just want you to confirm if that's the case, or whether you worded it wrong.

Because, from my current standpoint, I have the Alters plugins organized like this:
-> Extension
-> Main
-> Companion

Since I assumed that the Companion needed to be below the main Alters plugin.  But seeing as some of my alters are claiming they last posted on December 31, 1969, I think I got something wrong somewhere.  XD

I had originally hoped multiple copies would work but apparently you cant have more then 1 copy of a plugin. if you need more then what the extension already offers, I would have to make a clone version and name it "extension 2" or something. but first I would have to make sure the variables would support it.


companion should be above main since main references functions in it. the date might go weird if its never stored a date before and its returning a 0. if you make a post with an alter it should set a new value in there.

And yes, it would be wonderful if you could work on a secondary Extension. There are a lot of Alters going around on my forum, and we do already have (and are successfully using) one Extension out of necessity.

Wormopolis, would you be willing to add a list of features in the OP or just otherwise explain a bit more what all it entails? I'm considering this for Companions on my RPG but lacking full understanding of what functions it provides besides the basic--I can make faux accounts tied to my account to post with

Great idea, easy to configure. Didn't work at all, though it has worked for me on forums in the past :/ Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if there's a compatibility error with other plugins, but I'm not impressed at the moment.

Works for me. works for other people. so perhaps asking why it doesnt work for you would net better results?

I've run into a slight issue with the Alters plugin for some reason I am not able to add more recent members to make use of an alter.

I have only 19 members on my forum with more to sign up later, but only the first 17 are able to be added.

yeah the storage isnt infinite. you maxed out the avalable space. get the alters extension plugin and you can get more, but if you max that one out we have to write an extension extension

Ahh I see then I have quite an issue, as the extension is not allowing me to add the newer members to an alter either.

I'm currently using your Alters plugin and am considering buying another superkey slot to use your Alters Companion plugin, but have some questions I'd like to clear up. I have a role playing forum, and I'm using Peter's Monetary System plugin to award members points for in-character posts. I understand that the Alters Companion plugin will track posts per alter. But I would like to know if it would be compatible with the Monetary System plugin, allowing members to see the number of points earned by each alter in addition to the post count, and being able to take points away specifically from the alters instead of the main user account. I'm not sure whether this is a question that should be directed here, in the Monetary System support thread, or both, but would appreciate your input, even if this function is not possible.
